Sportsman’s Park Year: 2015 Trail types: Concrete, limestone Distance: Approximately .62 miles (Concrete = .12; Limestone = .5)
The Naperville Park District, in coopera�on with the City of Naperville, enrolled Sportsman’s Park in the Illinois Environmental Protec�on A�ency (IEPA) Site �emedia�on Pro�ram (S�P) to ini�ate IEPA oversi�ht of an environmental assessment and remedia�on of the Sportsman's Park facility in 2015. �ith the remedia�on process, the District was able to improve the exis�n� and len�then concrete pathways within the trap shoo�n� ran�e. �ore importantly, the eastern side of the property was cleared of invasive plant material and a limestone loop trail was constructed that can be used by the en�re community.
From the 2008 Plan: Sportsman’s Park �The recently completed Caroline �ar�n �itchell �aster Campus Plan iden��es the opportunity to expand the exis�n� Sportsman’s Park trail system to possibly include connec�ons to the Community Garden Plots, Green Acres Drive, and an internal loop trail system. Once completed, the Park District should promote public trail awareness in this area” (p. 19).
