Planning Area 8 Area 8 is located in southern Naperville, bounded by 95th Street to the north, Naperville/ Plainfield Road and the DuPage River to the east, and Park District boundaries to the west and south. Area 8 is 7.91 square miles. 2020 Census Population (Estimated): 19,986 Existing Open Space: 580.85 Acres
Area 8 is also considered a “newer” portion of Naperville, with large residential subdivisions developed within the last two decades. There are several school sites that offer additional recreational open space for residents outside of school hours. A new residential area is expected to be developed south of 111th street in the next few years, which will include two new park sites. This area is served by the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s Vermont Cemetery to the west and Riverview Farmstead to the south for additional open space opportunities.
