W., Grand Rapids, Mich., has been teaching an adult Sunday-school class and has been working with the Girls’ council for young women of college age under the City Rescue Mission of Grand Rapids. Mr. Farrar has full charge of the music of the Mission, of which Mel Trotter is Superintendent. Don and Mrs. Turner (Faith Hollings­ worth, ’21), members of the Orinoco River Mission, have been stationed at Caripe, Venezuela, S. A. Mrs. Turner writes: “We have much for which to thank God. We have been marvelously protected from very venomous snakes here, and also from drunken men who thought to do us harm. Carlson, ’39; Norman Crider, ’34; Warren Glover, ’36; Ralph (’38) and Roy Kraft (’38); Frank Lee, ’33, and Ransom D. Marvin, ’35. Mrs. G. C. Butler (Ruth Jones, ’32), who was married in January of this year, is living in Waco, Tex., where her husband has been attending Baylor Uni­ versity. He is pastor of the Tumersville Baptist Church near Waco. Edward Roosa, ’23, pastor of the Bap­ tist Church of Holmes, N. Y., writes Of the Lord’s blessing in work with boys and girls and young people. Henry A. Senff, ’23, a member of the Africa Inland Mission, has been using his furlough year for study at Wheaton College, Wheaton, 111. Anna J. Thiessen, ’25, 437 Mountain Ave., Winnipeg, Man., Can., has a home for girls called the “Mary-Martha Home.’’ Miss Thiessen is working under the Mennonite Brethren District Con­ ference of North America. E. Carlton (’24) and Mrs. Dewey (Mildred S. Nichols, ’20), 734 So. Main St., Taylor, Pa., are serving in the Bap­ tist Tabernacle of Taylor, where Mr. Dewey is pastor. The church was founded in 1936. Twenty-five persons were to be baptized at a recent Sunday service. James W. Black, ’20, 3136 S. E. 26th Ave., Portland, Ore., is Vice-President and instructor at the Pacific Coast Bap­ tist Bible Institute, Portland, Ore. He is also pastor of a Baptist church in Port­ land. Ernest W. (’30) and Mrs. Ralston, Scio, Ore., have been serv ing in the Yankton Baptist Church, where Mr. Ral­ ston is pastor. Mr. Ralston attended the Western Baptist Theological Seminary of Portland last winter. Mr. and Mrs. Ralston have three sons and two daugh­ ters.
