A TWENTY-SEVEN-CENTURIES. OLD PROPHECY [Continued from Page 301] gions in response to that challenge. It is Satan’s loftiest and mightiest array: “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision” (v. 14), all panoplied in steel, gathering on land, over sea, through air, and under wave. The momentous hour has come! The prophet can no longer hold back the cry: “Thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Jehovah” (v. 11, R. V.) ! The almighty God at last responds to the ages-long pleading of His people. He turns to His glorious Son, seated at His right hand, now crowned resplend- ently for the thorns that once pierced His brow, and cries: “Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down . . . for their wickedness is great” (v. 13). Jehovah’s Final Glorious Victory And then—the day of all days—the glory of all glory—the king of all kings and the Lord of all lords, shall “roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope [Heb., machseh, i. e., place of repair, harbor, refuge] of his people” (v. 16). Satan’s commander-in-chief, at the head of the vastest host ever mob ilized in hell’s dominions, will go out to meet Him. They go to their ever lasting doom. Then shall the nations know that God dwells in Zion, “and there shall no strangers pass through her any more” (Joel 3:17), Then shall He who was “bom King of the Jews”' (Matt. 2:2) sit down upon “thè throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end” (Lk. 1:32, 33). Then “shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings” (Mai. 4:2). “And, the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away” (Isa. 35:10). Come, Lord Jesus, come! BROKEN LIFE LINE \Continued from Page 314] Heart Line climbs the Mount of Ambi tion that matters, but whether heart and head and life go with Him to Cal vary. We can leave our future in His hands; our names are written there. Those scars are the guarantee of a real future for all who believe.” She nodded. “And I am going to be lieve it—Oh, Gordon!” she sobbed, “I believe it now! . . . ” He turned off the radio lest the next program should dim the beauty of their worship. There were many things he

Mine stops at the foothills, and I’m afraid—” “Oh, no, you’re not,” he interrupted. “It’s not the lines in your hand, that count; it’s the light in your eyes!” Fonda closed her eyes, relaxed. “If there’s anything brilliant — for us—” she said softly, “it will be re flected brightness. We have seen the Light.” [ THE END] guistic workers in Mexico. To show our appreciation for all that he has done for us and for the Mexican people, and to enable American friends to meet him, it has been our hope for some time to arrange such a gathering as this.” From the very beginning, the assem bly sensed the spiritual atmosphere that prevailed. Prayer was offered by a Mexican pastor from San Diego, Calif. Scripture was read feelingly—the “Love .Chapter,” 1 Corinthians 13. Guests at the picnic spoke as representatives of various phases of life in the United States. There was a message represent ing Christian professional men, one on behalf of Christian mothers, and another as reflecting the attitude of Christian business men. Each speaker stressed the relationship of his or her group to Mexico and its people. The power of the gospel, the Bible as the Word of God, and the Lord Jesus Christ as the only Saviour were exalted and presented as PRESIDENT CARDENAS WELCOMES CHRISTIAN FRIENDSHIP [Continued from page 297]

Into the whole program, the President entered heartily and with appreciation. Every one present was impressed with the sincerity and simplicity of President Cardenas. They saw him as one who possesses a deep love for the common people and who gives himself unreservedly for their good, not expect» ing anything in return—not even grati* tude. They recognized the strength of his purpose to establish the spirit of good will instead of strife in Mexico, And they thanked God for all the possi» bility of His dealing through this win. some and respected leader of a people too often misunderstood.
