Alongside the rebrand, Nolan Lighting & Electrical Solutions will be launching a new website - www.nles.ie – which will initially operate as a corporate website with a customer portal featuring online order processing functionality to be added later. Planning to expand its agencies and product range across the electrical and lighting divisions, the distributor is also aiming to boost its team and is currently recruiting for a commission-led rep in the north of Ireland. Nolan Lighting & Electrical Solutions has also appointed a new sales director to drive its ambitious growth plans. New sales director on board Alan Brown joined the business in January, bringing 37 years’ experience in Ireland’s electrical sector to the role. From his first role with Harkness Electrical to a 15-year stint with Core Distribution, Alan also worked alongside Robert at Charles Nolan & Company when the two were starting out in the industry. “I will be responsible for growing existing
business and adding new agencies and products,” says Alan. “We are also aiming to expand our reach with electrical wholesalers.” Robert says, “I like the way Alan operates. He’s a nice guy, and personality is everything in this role. He knows the industry very well and has the skills to drive our sales with Joe leaving.” Retiring in April, Joe Murtagh is a trusted friend and colleague who has worked with Nolan Distribution for eight years, while also employed by Charles Nolan & Company for a decade. His career also spans McKeever Brothers and Fitzgerald Lighting (now Powerlite Fitzgerald). “I’ve been in the electrical business since I was about 18,” says Joe. “I have enjoyed it and most of the people I met were very good and honest people. It is changing though, and competition would be a lot stronger than it was back 15 years ago.” With his rebrand, new team in place and upcoming website revamp, Robert is ready for the challenge. “We’re looking forward to reintroducing ourselves under the new brand name, which emphasises a bit more what we are. We have a lot to offer.”
