OUTDOOR HEATING

OUTDOOR HEATING IS OFTEN SEEN AS A COST CENTRE BUT DONE RIGHT, IT’S A PROFIT DRIVER, ACCORDING TO ATC… ATC’s Capri and Elba electric heaters

Patios, terraces, courtyards - these aren’t fair-weather luxuries anymore. Post-pandemic, customers expect venues to make these areas work year- round, not just during the three weeks of British summer. Unfortunately, the weather rarely gets the memo. Venues that don’t plan ahead lose out. This is your chance to help your clients turn ‘outdoor’ into ‘in profit’. Your secret weapon? Energy-efficient outdoor heating. Capri and Elba - Heating that makes money Both ATC’s Capri and Elba electric heaters use shortwave infrared to provide instant heat where it’s needed. No warm-up time, no wasted energy. But these aren’t just heaters. They’re money-makers. Let’s do the maths A restaurant has 15 outdoor seats. Each seat brings in around €50 per customer. Extend the season by just one month (30 days) with electric heaters. That’s an extra €22,500 (€50×15×30). Add two more hours to evening service in summer (that’s one extra sitting), and that could mean another €22,500 per month. Even after factoring in heating costs, that’s still a tidy profit. And with high-quality units like Capri and Elba, you can expect to extend the season beyond a single month. Heating is often seen as a cost centre but done right, it’s a profit driver. Save €5.8k a year by choosing electric* Gas heaters burn through budgets, but electric delivers on cost and carbon. Take a look:

Elba offers more power and more coverage.

“Both ATC’s Capri and Elba electric heaters use shortwave infrared to provide instant heat where it’s needed.”

• Gas patio heater: ~ €7,060/year to run • Electric heater: ~ €1,235/year • Annual savings: €5,825 That’s serious savings, especially in hospitality where margins matter. Electric also wins on emissions: • Electric = 1,303kg of CO₂/year • Gas = 5,802kg of CO₂/year Pair with our optional HS500 HeatSTAT digital thermostat, and you can run these heaters on a set schedule. Alternatively, our Time Lag switch (EXTLSW16A) allows on-demand activation for a set duration. Both options save energy, which is important for clients looking to future-proof against rising fuel costs and emissions targets. Big terrace or small balcony? There’s a heater that fits. • Elba = More power, more coverage. • Capri = Compact install, great for smaller spaces. Elba’s larger size (190x460x110mm) and extended heat throw offer roughly 8sqm more coverage than Capri (107x570x115mm), making it ideal for larger terraces and commercial areas. But that extra output can be too much for compact spaces like small balconies.

In those cases, the stylish Capri is the smarter spec.

Fast install, fewer callbacks Both IP55 electric heaters come pre- wired with matching wall brackets, ensuring a fast and hassle-free installation. No additional components required. And with ATC’s two-year warranty, you’re covered right from the first fix. Recommend electric, and you’re not just saving clients money - you’re helping them earn it. That’s advice they remember. *Based on heaters operating seven days per week, six hours per day, 42 weeks per year (1,764 operating hours annually). Figures correct as of September 2025. Electricity cost calculated at €0.35 per kWh, based on a 2.0 kW electric heater. Gas heaters assumed to burn 1.1 kg of gas per hour, using an 11 kg gas bottle priced at €40.

Capri is great for smaller spaces.
