Custom Electronics was appointed as the fire alarm specialist for Ruby Molly Dublin, having completed more than 10 hotel projects over the last five years. The Dublin-based firm supplied an Algo-Tec 6500 digital addressable fire detection and alarm system from Protec Fire and Security Group Ltd, a Bosch Company. The system comprises nine networked fire alarm panels, delivering full Category L1 detection coverage throughout the development. It is fully integrated with multiple building systems including smoke shaft, access control, public address and ventilation systems, lifts, fire and smoke dampers, and fire door holders. The system is EN54 Part 13 approved, guaranteeing compatibility and
connectivity while exceeding the manufacturing standards of most other products on the market for quality and reliability. Francis Coffey, Managing Director, says, “We have been a Protec Bosch supplier for 25 years and this gives us a market edge. “For our installation at Ruby Molly Dublin, we have a 1-amp load on loop which gives a greater capacity for devices. This allows us to increase the amount of detection on the loops, ultimately reducing the number of panels and cable runs needed. “We have worked closely with Alfa Electrical over the last eight years, which allows us to understand what is needed to achieve the best solution for its clients.”

Custom Electronics also provides nurse call and refuge systems, emergency lighting, portable fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems by DSPA in the Netherlands. The firm has recently signed a partnership deal on PAVA systems with Bosch in the Netherlands.
