Premier Electrical acquires solar PV firm Suir expands into Slovakia
Ballynahinch-based Premier Electrical Group has completed a deal to acquire Natural Generation, a solar energy solutions provider in England. A supplier of solar and electrical solutions across domestic, commercial and agricultural sectors in Northern Ireland, Premier Electrical Group specialises in the design, supply and installation of solar PV systems, battery storage and EV chargers. Perranporth-based Natural Generation supplies solar panels and battery storage to homes and businesses in Cornwall, Devon and the South-West.
The acquisition creates a combined business with almost 50 staff. Premier Electrical Group plans to nearly double its annual turnover to £15m in the next two to three years and is expanding its Ballynahinch site to accommodate up to 10 new staff. Waterford-based Suir Engineering has opened a new office in the Slovak Republic, marking a further expansion of its European operations. Located in Košice in eastern Slovakia, the new office currently employs six senior engineers and will support the design and delivery of projects across the energy and renewables sectors throughout Europe. This strategic location provides Suir Engineering with a solid platform for future investment and expansion to meet growing international demand. Suir Engineering will recruit talent from across European markets to support this growth. Day-to-day operations will be led by long-serving Suir Engineering veteran Jozef Belusko, Engineering Director of Energy, Power & Renewables. Also operating offices in Dublin, London, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Frankfurt, Suir Engineering has grown over 42 years to become one of Europe’s leading providers of high voltage, electrical and instrumentation, and mechanical engineering services.

Dublin-based Ethos Engineering, Ireland’s largest M&E consultancy and a European leader in sustainable data centre design, has acquired a UK design consultancy. London-based 3DEC Ltd provides services to data centres, commercial workplaces and educational environments, building on Ethos’ strong client offering in this area. Ethos partnered with private equity firm Exponent in March 2024, and has since expanded its team to 259 employees. It has also opened offices in the UK and
the Netherlands and a new purpose- built HQ in Dublin. The 3DEC acquisition will boost its team by over 40 engineers.
