Giving Update: THANK YOU for Helping Us Donate 228,360 Meals!

2023 OCT

If you’ve ordered supplies from our

my answer to the “Why Feeding America?” question is pretty simple: I love their mission, I trust they’re the real deal (they have an impressive list of accreditations and partners), and I think they spread every dollar we send them a long way.

website at any point in the last two years, thank you so much! Because of your business, we’ve been able to donate 228,360 meals to kids in need through Feeding America.

According to Feeding America’s website, each dollar donated provides at least 10 meals to hungry kids and families. They get that bang for their buck by working with food banks, food pantries, and

Honestly, I still can’t believe that number, even as I write it. It feels incredible to know that the small business my dad started is having such a big, positive impact on the world! You might remember that last year, we set an ambitious goal to donate a quarter of a million meals to Feeding America. We haven’t quite made it, but we’re getting closer every day! As I write this, we have just 21,640 meals to go. We’ve gotten this far because last year, we donated 10 meals every time a chiropractor or physical therapist placed an order on our website. That got us to almost 200,000 meals by the end of 2022. In 2023, we diversified

local food programs that know how to spend donations most efficiently for their communities. As I write this, Feeding America is working with food banks in Hawaii to provide food to families who lost their homes in the Maui wildfires this summer, for example. Pretty cool, right? On top of donating to Feeding America, we’ve done some chiropractor-centric charity work this year. A while back, we worked with one of our manufacturers, Pivotal Health Solutions, to donate a couple of portable tables to Dr. Peter Morgan’s Chiromissions. Pivotal Health made the tables and helped sponsor our donation! If you haven’t heard of Chiromissions, I definitely recommend looking into it. Their chiropractors have taken more than 115 mission trips to countries like Haiti and the Dominican Republic to provide free chiropractic care to people who need it. I learned about Chiromissions from one of our clients (you know who you are — thank you for the tip!), and I can’t wait to help them again.

our giving a bit — but we’re still chugging away toward our goal. Every time you buy from our HeartNSoles insole or chiropractic T-shirt product lines, we donate 10 meals to kids in need. When I wrote about this last, a few people asked me why I chose Feeding America from the thousands of charities out there. It’s a great question because many nonprofits aren’t as great as they seem. When you dig into it, they seem to be more about funneling money into their CEO’s pockets than giving back. With that in mind,

My team and I are always looking for new ways to give back to our community, and we particularly love working with

chiropractic-related charities. If you know about an organization that could use our help, reach out and let us know! I’d love to learn more about them.

Core Strength Beyond Crunches DISCOVER THE TRUTH ABOUT EFFECTIVE AB WORKOUTS

A New Way RECREATE’S

You’ve probably noticed that when it comes to taking vitamins and other supplements,

To say crunches are not fun would be an understatement. Repetitive and sometimes downright painful, this

your patients prefer gummies to swallowing pills. According to one recent survey, a full 67% of 18–35-year-olds pick gummies over other types of vitamins! Older patients love them, too — so much so that by 2028, the gummy vitamin market should be worth almost $9.5 billion. Now, we have a new way for you to cash in on that popularity in your clinic. Our go-to CBD gummy supplier, Charlotte’s Web, recently launched a brand-new line of organic broad- spectrum CBD gummy products called ReCreate.

exercise has been touted for decades as the primary way to strengthen your core and get those picture-perfect abs. Well, new research suggests that statement isn’t 100%

true. In fact, most trainers and fitness experts now discourage

people from doing crunches. When done incorrectly, which most people do, you can cause damage to your spine and neck while gaining few to no results.

They’re formulated specifically for physically active people — like many of your patients.

ReCreate is National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Certified for Sport. It’s also the official CBD of Major League Baseball and the Professional Lacrosse League! How cool is that? We’re offering four gummies in the ReCreate line right now, including: Endurance — A gummy to improve alertness, energy, and athletic performance with ingredients like beetroot and organic green tea extract (a great source of natural caffeine). Brain Support — A gummy to support mental fitness (think brain health, focus, etc.) that leverages the memory-enhancing power of lion’s mane mushrooms.

Even if a person does achieve those prominent ab muscles through situps and crunches, they likely still have weak core strength. Those exercises only work your external muscles, not your inner core muscles. So, while they may be able to flex their abs, they likely couldn’t hold a plank for very long. WHAT IS YOUR CORE? You may hear the term “core” thrown around often, but where exactly is it, and what does it do? Your core is more than just abdominal muscles and includes muscles around your spine and pelvis. Your core muscles allow you to do most of the movements you make throughout the day, such as bending forward, rotating left and right, and holding yourself upright.

Muscle Recovery — A gummy to help patients bounce back after workouts that includes the anti-inflammatory properties of tart cherry.

When your core is weak, the muscles may not support you properly as you move about your day, which may lead to back or neck pain. As a result, if you suffer from backaches, try core-strengthening exercises to better support your spine. TRY AN ALTERNATIVE TO CRUNCHES. Since crunches aren’t the best for core strengthening, it’s time you start trying something different. There are plenty of core-strengthening exercises for every fitness level, whether you’re a beginner, injured, or a pro. In particular, Pilates is an incredible type of exercise that focuses entirely on core strength and will have you feeling stronger in no time.

If you want to get started, try some easy movements at home. Planks, bridges, toe taps, and swimmers are all great ways to build your core strength. However, you should always consult your physical therapist about the best core exercises for your unique needs.

Rest — A gummy formulated to promote calm and better sleep. It uses passionflower instead of melatonin as its main active ingredient, offering an alternative to typical natural sleep aids. These four ReCreate gummies aren’t just for top athletes. The NSF Certified for Sport designation is just an extra level of reassurance that what you and your patients see on each bottle’s label is exactly what’s in the products.

As for you, you don’t have to buy a crazy amount of ReCreate to test how well these gummies sell in your clinic. If you want to try them out, Charlotte’s Web senior director of global medical sales, Matt Storey, recommends purchasing each product in a PDQ (or “product displayed quickly”). Each PDQ package includes six pouches of six gummies each for a total of three servings per pack. If you’re selling Charlotte’s Web’s other products in your office, you’ve already worked with this setup! “Our 6-count packages allow chiropractors to drive patient trials better than they ever have,” Matt says. “The patient will get an enjoyable experience at a low price point, and we’ve formulated the gummies so they aren’t left guessing about the effect. They can take a one-pouch trial, see a shift, and determine if the product works for them.”

“We designed ReCreate for professional athletes and jumped through hoops for NSF Certification to ensure it’s on their approved substance list — but these gummies are also for the everyday casual athlete and the fitness guru,” says Charlotte’s Web Director of Distribution Brian Grosso. “I’m personally using Brain Support on a regular basis, and I’m not incredibly active.” Charlotte’s Web is one of just a few CBD companies pioneering products in the NSF Certified for Sport niche. All the ReCreate gummies are made with broad-spectrum CBD extract created through a proprietary process. That means they’re truly THC-free and safe for everyone — including first responders and long-haul truck drivers who have to steer clear of THC for work. Your patients won’t have to worry about euphoric effects or feeling out of control when they take ReCreate. Instead, they can relax and enjoy the health benefits.

PDQs for the Brain Support, Endurance, Muscle Recovery, and Rest gummies are available right now on Chiro1Source.com . Check them out when you’re ready to boost your revenue and help your patients feel as fit as MLB athletes!

Kids in the Kitchen: Wholesome Family Bonding 4

COOK WITH YOUR KIDS TO MAKE MEALTIME MEANINGFUL!

As a parent, it can be incredibly challenging to nail down the perfect weeknight dinner menu that makes every hungry mouth in your home happy. This is especially true when you have picky little ones who demand waffles for dinner or dinosaur chicken nuggets seven nights a week. You may feel like your days as a short-order cook are endless, but we’re here to tell you about a simple trick to making healthier meals everyone in your family will enjoy.

The trick is quite simple: Have your kids cook with you! Cooking with your kids has multiple benefits that stretch far beyond the kitchen table, but the immediate reward is that you won’t cook alone anymore! Next time dinner time rolls around, grab your little sous-chefs to lend a hand so they can enjoy these three benefits. NO. 1: COOKING TEACHES LIFE SKILLS. It may seem far off, but one day, your child will have to cook for themselves and eventually their own children, too. By teaching them the basics of cooking now, you’re providing them with a skill they’ll need to be capable adults.

that weird-looking thing. That’s how many children experience food for the first time, which can feel like a scary experience. Kids who help cook in the kitchen are much more likely to try new and adventurous foods because they’re exposed to them and other ingredients over a period of time. They touch, slice, smell, crush, and season the foods before they ever eat them. So, by the time it hits their plate, it’s not so scary!

NO. 3: COOKING PROMOTES HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT.

Time spent in the kitchen isn’t all about eating, either. While cooking, children stir, mix, measure, roll, squeeze, spread, observe, learn, and count. These activities all help develop fine motor, hand-eye coordination, math, and science skills, not to mention creativity!

NO. 2: COOKING CREATES AN ADVENTUROUS EATER.

Imagine seeing something like asparagus or artichoke on the plate in front of you for the first time and being told you must eat
