and senior basketball, cricket, and volleyball, and the final of senior debating (which went down to the wire), the finals of four in tug-of- war, and the finals in chess. For a third consecutive year, Flower's was crowned interhouse golf champion. It certainly helps having 60 Housemates at both the semis and finals, cheering on our chess boys. While we could get carried away by the wins, the close finals, and even those where we qualified for semi-finals or just did not make it through the pool stages, these also exemplified the House spirit, and the boys’ ‘never say die’ attitudes, sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie. We are exceptionally proud of the way in which our boys have conducted themselves, and believe that this is what makes them stand out as true champions. In mid-September, we enjoyed our annual House shoot. It was a well-

supported event, with more than 90 people arriving to enjoy a good day out. There was plenty of food and with each parent bringing a special plate, we had a Flower's family feast. The shooting was highly competitive, with Tom Hazeldine crowned boys' champion and the parents again too strong for the boys' team and

perfect opportunity to mingle and share fond memories of 2023. We celebrated the successes of the year through the handing out of our awards and trophies and everyone present thoroughly enjoyed the company of staff, parents, and boys, underlining the special culture of Flower's House. Thank you to everyone in the Flower’s House community for making 2023 a success. We have a great House culture. Under the student leadership of Beau Armstrong and Jono Rookes, supported by the senior House leadership team of Ben Donaldson, Ed Davidson, Lachie Short, and Tom Foster, together with the talented and driven Year 13 students – Matthew Hocquard, Luke Kim, Jackson Flint, Eric Liu, Joshua Peckitt, Fergus Ryan, and Sean Wu – they created a community of care where each boy could feel

comfortably winning the day. The haka competition was as

fiercely competitive as ever and led exceptionally well. Training started early in Term 3 and the boys put in a fantastic, strong performance that made us proud. In representative sport, Max Dormer was selected for the SUPA Polo team that toured Australia and Beau and Claude Armstrong represented New Zealand in a bull-riding competition in Australia. This year's House dinner was held at Chateau on the Park. It was the
