comfortable and supported to give his best and be himself, knowing that if he fell, his brothers would be there to support him. Thank you to our mentors, Dr Craig Aitken, Travis Dixon, Gill Kilpatrick, Monique Ellis-Martin, and Nick Sutcliffe, for the important roles you have played in mentoring our boys. Your willingness to support the boys at interhouse events, guide them through their goal setting, help with time management, and be there at meal times is much appreciated. Thank you for being willing to offer a shoulder to lean on as well as being the first to give a pat on the back for a job well done. Thank you for the significant role that you have played in guiding and supporting our boys. I would like to say a very special ‘thank you’ to our Matron, Karen Adams, and our Deputy Housemaster, Monique Ellis-Martin,
for the support and care that you offer our boys. Thank you to our wonderful domestic ladies, Robyn, Kathleen, and Cathleen, for your incredible care and support of the boys. Your work is valued and you are very much appreciated for all you do. It was a great honour to be seated at your table at the Gala Dinner at the New Zealand Boarding Schools Awards as you were called up and presented with your long service awards – collectively well over 50 years of service to Flower’s House. Finally, I would like to recognise the other members of the Flower’s House community – the parents and boys. Thank you all for your enduring support and effort in 2023. I look forward to creating many more happy memories with you and our continued success in 2024. To those departing, we wish you every
success for the exciting journey that lies ahead and look forward to when our paths cross again. May Flower’s House always hold a special place in your hearts. I would like to leave you with the following poem that encapsulates the spirit of Flower's House in 2023.
