PASTORAL CARE Jacobs House

In 2023, we were pretty much back to normal in everything we do at College. It was full of plenty of success, achievements, and enjoyment in what seemed to also be another year that flew by. We welcomed 16 new students in Year 9 and one in Year 10 and Year 11. These boys soon settled in, making connections and getting a handle on the routines and expectations of College and Jacobs House. We also welcomed Josh Kim as the new Deputy Housemaster of Jacobs. It was also great having whaˉnau join us for various functions and events, including our House quiz night and our combined House Dinner and prize-giving. This allowed us to recognise the boys who had done exceptionally well and bid farewell to our Year 13 group with their whaˉnau present. This group was well

led by George Cochrane as Head of House. He was well assisted by his peers, including Deputies Charles Beale and Jaspar Thomas, along with Prefects Alexander Law and Angus Gifford. They were a special and lively group of students who achieved a great deal during their years at College. INTERHOUSE EVENTS Jacobs House was ready for a very good showing in the College Athletics, which was to be held at Ngaˉ Puna Wai under a new format. Unfortunately, bad weather cancelled the day.
