a strong bike and run to finish. After an unfortunate DNF in the individual race, Louis collected a national silver medal in the super sprint U14 team tag race, combining with three Cashmere High School athletes. Jacobs House had three students involved in the College Clay Target team in the Canterbury Clay Target Club competition. Kieran Christey, Harry Wilson, and Harrison Johnstone did well individually. Kieran's season went from strength to strength. He won the High Over All title with an impressive 88/90. He took out the single barrel senior contest, combined with Hugo Helmore to win the skeet team title, and was 3rd in the senior single rise and skeet events. Harry shot a PB 22/25 to take out the skeet junior event and Harrison shot a PB 19/20 to earn 3rd in the single rise junior event. Kieran and Harry shot well in the House shoot competition as well. Kieran won the Headmasters Cup with 56/60 for the day and Harry was 2nd equal for the Flower's House Cup. In cycling, Ben Crawford powered up at the South Island Schools Road Race Championships at Ruapuna, claiming the U17 road race title and finishing 2nd in the time trial. He followed this with two national titles at the 2023 Skoda Southern Tour schools cycling event. Hosted by Cycling Marlborough, the tour features the country’s top young cyclists. Ben, along with College teammate Riley Crampton, won all four of their respective age-group events – the individual time trial, criterium, hill climb, and road race – and the tour jerseys (general classification, sprint, and hill climb). Impressively, both the criterium and the time trial are national title events.
