The term began with a poignant Anzac service on 26 April, paying tribute to the sacrifices made
performances by Max Falvey, Aaron Kwak, Jack McKeown, Edward Nye, and Harry Vaughan, was a success, highlighting the multifaceted talents of Rolleston House. In the realm of sports, the House experienced a mix of victories and defeats in table tennis and futsal competitions, demonstrating the students' competitive spirit and engagement with House values. Week 3 was dedicated to STEM activities, with Rolleston House securing victories in various competitions, including bridge building and Cantamath. The senior House debating team, comprising Aaron Kwak, Max Falvey, and Seann Zhao, demonstrated prowess by affirming the motion “This house would introduce a tax on capital gains”. A significant development during the term was the addition of a new games table in the downstairs common room, courtesy of the generous Trollip family donation, providing a new lunchtime focus for the boys. The House participated in various school events, including The Big Sing competition, the senior production, Peter Pan , cross country, Rockquest, and more. Rolleston boys were involved in the College vs CBHS
rugby game, and Matthew Geddes showcased his musical talent in the band 5 On Air during Assembly. During Wellbeing Week, Rolleston House engaged in various activities promoting mental health, including a Wellbeing Week Quiz, a food drive initiated by Jack McKeown, and a visit to Spreydon School, fostering relationships within the broader community. The climax of the term featured House Music and senior debating. The Rolleston House choir delivered an enthusiastic performance of I Love Rock 'n' Roll , with Suhyuk Jung taking on the role of conductor. The backing band, featuring talented instrumentalists, earned commendation for their musical prowess. The small vocal ensemble, comprised of Edward Nye, Harry Vaughan, Alex Johnstone, and Oliver Trollip, presented a moving performance of And So It Goe s by Billy Joel, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. In senior debating, the team, against tough competition, secured a spot in the final by affirming the motion ‘This House would require employers to interview candidates in a way that conceals their appearance, gender, ethnicity, and age’. The competitive final against Flower’s House showcased the debating skills of Aaron Kwak, Harry Vaughan, and Seann Zhao. Term 2 concluded with recognition for various achievements, including Max Wilkinson's winning entry in the Character & Leadership poster competition, Tom Kerr's success in the House Reading Competition, and George Brakenridge receiving his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. The term ended on a musical note with a remarkable performance by Lucas Zhong and Jago Wallace in the Salzburg Piano Trio. Term 3: Rolleston House – a theatrical extravaganza Term 3 at Rolleston House was a thrilling ride, highlighted by the spectacular House Play, World War: the dawn of 28 days while the dead don't die and also walk .
