Mother's Day High Tea In Term 2, we welcomed the return of the Mother's Day High Tea. It is a wonderful way to celebrate all the mothers of School House and host them in the House library. It is an opportunity to thank the mothers for all that they do for their sons. The boys helped set up the library and then served tea and coffee while their mothers sat back, relaxed, and were pampered while enjoying the company of other mothers. House Music Our final event in Term 2 was the annual Parents’ Association House Music Festival in the Christchurch Town Hall. The House sang a rendition of Little Lion Man by Mumford and Sons and worked hard to impress the judge. A big thanks to our backing band, who did a wonderful job learning the many parts. Well done to Geordie Pavey, Will Richards, Harry Hansen, and Oliver Biggs and a special mention to Nico Elworthy, who beautifully brought the role of 'Little Lion Man' to life. Finally, a big 'thank you' to the Year 13s and, in particular, Nico and Jack, who organised and ran the House singing beautifully. REACTION House Plays Festival Term 3 quickly rolled around and it was time for the annual REACTION House Plays Festival. With only five school weeks separating House Music and House Plays, it left the boys with little time to, produce, cast, direct, and rehearse the play. This year, the boys settled on the pilot episode of the popular Friends series. The boys stuck to the script as much as they could while still bringing their own unique School House flavour to this iconic episode. The School House cast did a tremendous job bringing this episode to life and taking the audience along for a laugh-a-minute ride, not to mention the amazing ad breaks that they were able to fit into the script. At the conclusion of the evening, the play and cast were acknowledged with several awards: Magic Moment Bunnings ad moment – Harry Carr, Callum Kingsbury, Tom Hansen, and Will Gould
