Register 2023

Thanks to the success of our pilot programme in 2020, all Year 9 Boys were invited to join the Bronze Award. If they complete their Bronze Award, they will be refunded their enrolment fee. By beginning their Bronze Award in Year 9, they will then have plenty of chances to complete their Silver Award by the end of Year 11. This will allow motivated boys to achieve their Silver or Gold sections of the Discovery and Service sections of the Diploma. Thanks to this initiative, more boys are completing their Silver Award in Year 11. This allows them two years to complete their Gold Award before they leave College.

Two Old Boys have completed their Gold Award post-College. They are first to be added to our new honours board, set up to acknowledge this feat and remind the boys that they have until age 24 to complete all levels of the award and it is not just an award to finish at Christ’s College. VENTURE GROUP The College Venture Group continues to expand. It is in its 5th year as a sport for the boys who wish to learn tramping and mountaineering skills. The group is run by Dr Tom Hawkins. We expect it will expand to offer more Silver

and Gold Adventurous journeys to meet the demand. The Year 9 Activity Week and the Adventurous Journeys are a huge commitment for College staff. Across all year groups, more than 300 boys were involved in a range of outdoor activities. This meant, over the year, more than 30 staff being involved in day trips or longer camps. Some staff have undertaken four trips with the boys this year. Thank you to all the staff and our providers for making these activities a success for our boys.
