SPORT Cricket
The 2023 cricket year has been another positive one for Christ’s College. Most boys focus on the highest level they can play, while others choose to simply enjoy this fantastic summer sport each Saturday. College had a successful tour to the United Kingdom and was one win away from the Gillette Cup finals. The 1st Xl won the one-day competition. The New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) side is full of talent and has made the upcoming final of this competition. Special mention must go to the servants of cricket – Stephen Dods, Craig Aitken, Arthur Wood, Andrew Levenger, Neil Nicholson, Carey Prebble, Josh Wood, and the Rev’d Canon Cameron Pickering. The Friends of Cricket Committee has also been superb, ably led by Devonie Eglinton.
Rob Noster has contributed greatly to cricket at College. He has retired from coaching but his skills and little quips will be missed.
