Crawford made the top 10 in the U20 boys, with 59 points and 56 points, respectively. One of the many highlights of the local events was George Rookes, Oscar Talbot, and Thomas Audeau completing a clean sweep in the hill climb event and Riley and Ben making the top 10. Riley and Ben had further success in the South Island Championships, with both winning their age group road races, and Riley also winning the U15 individual time trial. Each member of the team racing at the South Island Championships managed top 10 places in their events and Oscar Talbot was 3rd in the U17 road race. Moving on to the Southern Tour in Blenheim, the successful run of Riley and Ben continued, with both claiming 1st places in their age group general classifications after
competing in individual time trials, the criterium, road race, and hill climb. Oscar just missed out on 3rd in the U17 and Will Crawford was 8th in the U16. Riley Crampton rounded out an excellent individual season with victory in the National Schools Road Race Championships points race and a 15th place finish in the road race. There were impressive performances from our other riders over the season. Kiki Anglem missed the first half while recovering from an injury but managed to grab some great results during his comeback. Seb Gray and Marcello Ferguson showed perseverance and determination to grab top-three placings in races while Louis Hiatt, Louis Audeau, and Jonty Grey showed great development and team work in their first seasons. The team also picked up top three
placings in the local Scotty Brown Team Time Trial series. It has been a great privilege to be involved with the boys and watch their well-deserved success as a team and individually in a sport that where success is underpinned by the strength of the group and the boys’ willingness to ride for each other.
