South Island Invitational U15 Rugby Tournament. Playing some of their best rugby, the boys demonstrated pride, passion, and camaraderie. Despite narrow losses, particularly against Timaru Boys’ High School, and Shirley Boys’ High School, the team's tenacity was evident in their efforts. As a coaching group, we take pride in the team's accomplishments and express gratitude for their positive and dedicated attitude. Recognising the pivotal role of Stephen Dods and Kris Miller, as well as the support of groundsmen, sponsors, and parents, we extend our thanks to all who contributed to a successful and memorable season. The players’ growth, both as individuals and athletes, leaves us optimistic about their future endeavours. U14 WHITE Manager: Alexandra Robertson Coach: Stephen Dods The U14 White team marked a significant improvement this year, comfortably winning its final against a formidable Burnside team. The players’ passionate and courageous approach to rugby was truly commendable. These players, along with their U55kg and U14 Black counterparts, demonstrated an incredible attitude towards the game, which was equally reflected by their parents’ support.

five minutes, displayed dominance for the first 60 minutes. The 2nd XV, facing the challenges of playing in the 1st XV grade, still managed to pull off remarkable performances. The U15A and U15B teams, headed by Arthur Wood and supported by an excellent coaching staff in Ed Peak, Josh Wood, Shun Miyake, and Manager Cameron Pickering, showcased excellent training ethics and teamwork. U15A was another team that only through the bounce of the ball did not make its final. The U14 Black team, under the guidance of Matt Thatcher and Massey Williams, narrowly missed victory in the final. The team’s performance demonstrated the effectiveness of having two equally selected U14 teams in 2023. Its win in the final minute against the U14 White team was a bitter pill to swallow for the White team but showed how good this U14 Black team was all season. Christ's College has a proud legacy of producing exceptional rugby players. Many former students continue to play and return to coach at the school. Their dedication to giving back to College is unique and valuable in today’s society. These alumni contribute their knowledge and experience gained from high- level coaching, which enriches the rugby programme. A special thanks to all the coaches and managers who nurtured and cared for our teams throughout the season. Your dedication is a source of pride for the entire community. Furthermore, the support of our sponsors plays a significant role in providing our students with the best coaches and equipment, helping us achieve a level of excellence.

Their coaches, Tim Redfern, Kane Te Wheoro, and Josh Ellingham, deserve recognition for their exceptional work with the players. Seeing these boys perform at their best in the final was a special moment. CONCLUSION While our five other teams may not have secured the gold medal, they made us proud.
