Register 2023

Championships in March, boding well for further junior tournaments in Term 4. The Senior A team finished 5th in the Canterbury Championships, 7th in the Mainland Championships, and 3rd in Division 3 at the National Championships – the best ever result by a Christ’s College team. It is exciting to see the enthusiasm of many new players and the vast improvements achieved in such a short period. We are lucky to retain the fabulous Nicky Pio as our coach for the 2024 season and look forward to seeing the many talented boys continue to improve under her expert guidance in the new Upper West facility. Special mention must again go to our Senior A captain, Matthew Brett, who, after an outstanding club season, has been named in the New Zealand U19 team to travel to the Asian Championships in 2024.

the boys found their stride on day three, there was no stopping them. Finishing the tournament with four good wins, the inexperienced Junior A side finished 9th in the South Island and the boys should be proud of their accomplishment. After arriving back at school for 2023, the season kicked off again with a whopping 11 teams (two competitive senior teams, five

senior social teams, Junior A, two mixed junior teams and a Year 9 team) entered in the Canterbury Secondary Schools (CSS) Monday night competition. All teams performed well throughout the CSS competition, with fierce but friendly competition among the senior social teams ensuring great entertainment. The Junior A team took out 1st place in the Eastern Volleyball Club
