a variety of approaches that work with students’ strengths and build confidence. Students’ classwork is supported by carefully designed teaching methods that cater to diverse learning styles. Meanwhile, 100% of students surveyed have found numeracy tuition beneficial in supporting their classroom learning and reported improvement in multiple areas of mathematics across all strands. With the introduction of the national co-requisite examinations, our SAC administrator, Kate Barber, continues to play a vital role in the department. Kate works tirelessly to accommodate our students' needs when it comes to assessments, and we thank her. I would also like to thank teacher aides Annemarie Winstone, Susannah He, Maria Riveros, and Tyler Walker for their commitment to the individual boys they help. Finally, I would like to thank my staff for their dedication and the care they show our students. We can be proud of the support we offer those

with learning differences. As we farewell our Year 13 boys, and think about where many of them began, it is encouraging to recognise their achievements and know they head out into the world having developed both the skills and confidence to succeed in their chosen pursuits. Gill Kilpatrick HoD Learning Centre & ESOL LIBRARY It has been another successful year for the library. We have continued to make good progress on increasing reading around the school through reading promotion, competition, and experimentation. This year, we have increased library borrowing compared with last year. Much of the credit goes to the English Department for starting each Year 9 class with five minutes of silent reading to help build or maintain the habit of reading daily. On the academic front, more departments have reached out to us for help with teaching research

and referencing skills. We have worked with classes from History, Geography, and Earth & Space Science for the first time in recent years. This is in addition to the ongoing work with the English Department to support the Year 12s undertaking their first big research project. We have also supported many Year 13 History students, one- on-one, with their main research project, and extended those past learning APA and into using Chicago referencing to prepare for university- level study. We have introduced student librarians this year, with mixed results. While there have been great projects, others have not been completed. Most student librarians have used the programme for Duke of Edinburgh service hours or for various components of the College Diploma. However, the biggest hit has been the Wednesday lunchtime general knowledge quizzes run by Benson Geng-Wang, Jeffrey Jiang, and George Zhang. An unexpected yet very successful project has been
