all things. I am glad for Yokefellows’ Hall and for those who are devoting their lives to the saving of souls. The Mission and workers will always have a warm place in my heart. I ask the prayers of all who know Jesus Christ.” (Signed) C. H. W. “D own and out ." Such was my condi tion when I found, through chance, the Yokefellow’s Hall. Broke, wet, cold, with out a friend to whom I dared apply. Friends I had, but they were the friends of afflu ence, not of poverty. Those who read the name below will know that once this poor mortal was a man of affairs and could count his friends iby the score. Friends? Yes, when you have money, but when you are broke, look where you will, in the aisles of your great churches, in the halls of your temples of justice, you will meet only with scorn and rebuke. I wandered, by accident, into the Yoke fellows’ Hall, at Eighth and Los Angeles streets, and there received the inspiration that has since led me to offer up this prayer, which I believe explains itself: ‘Thou art my portion, O Lord; I have said that I would keep thy words. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now have I kept thy Word. O, how love .1 thy law! It is my meditation all the day. I have refrained my feet from every evil way that I might keep thy Word. Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. The entrance of thy word giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.’ I thank Mr. Sloan and others of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles for their aid in need.” (Signed) A. E. S atia . S ailors and the hard cases can be reach ed, but only through the simple preaching of the gospel of Christ and God does work through it to bring about a man’s con version and answers prayer often after a long time. Yet ft is His time.

to redemption. They always find a wel come. T he statistical report for the month is as follow s: 2208 men attended 31 Gospel meetings. 1952 men were fed a good, substantial meal. 118 beds were given out. 60 men attended Yokefellow’s Bible Class. 95 men were dealt with personally. 49 men accepted and publicly confessed Christ. T he wood yard is quite a feature of the Yokefellow’s plan of action. Ten or a dozen men find an hour or two of work there daily. This work helps to pay for what they eat and gives them a self-respecting feeling of earning their way. You can get wood at 35c a lineal yard, which is equiva lent to four sacks. Send your expressman after it and haul it away by the yard or wagonload. T he first month in our new quarters has proven that it was a good move. Feeding men after the Gospel message assures us a full house each evening. Many- who came only for something to eat have gone away with the Word of God as a sword striking at their hearts and calling them to repent ance. Some have returned and confessed Jesus Christ as Saviour and Friend, and are proving their faith by their works. “I am praising Jesus Christ today—first, for having led me into Yokefellows’ Hall. Second—for bringing me to see Jesus Christ as Saviour. The Bible talk seemed to be especially for me. I have placed Jesus Christ first in my life, and I trust Him for HP HE last month, again, brought splendid opportunities for service, and prayer was answered by God in many ways, prov ing again that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation, It was a great joy to see His guidance so definitely shown.
