oversees scheduling and supervision of all Library and Study Center staff; establishes Library and Study Center policies and procedures; writes and revises Library and Study Center documents; provides Library and Study Center instruction and reference services to users; serves on quarterly Library Committee meetings and provides Library reports to that committee; provides quarterly reports to the Faculty Committee; advises on and carries out Library recommendations for accreditation; oversees the development and supervision of the Florida teaching site Library and the Owen Sound, Canada teaching site Library; provides support to all teaching site Libraries.

Library SEP

Reports to: the Library Director

• Duties: Opens and closes the Library and Study Center; supervises student workers; performs tasks as needed; completes special projects as assigned by the Library Director.

Library Student Worker

Reports to: the Library Director and SEP

• Duties: Opens and closes the Library and Study Center; circulates Library and Study Center materials, including check-out, check-in, renewals, fine collection, and reshelving of materials; oversees circulation desk; assists with copy machine and printer usage; reports and corrects discipline problems when all other Library and Study Center staff are not present; answers questions and helps users find materials; keeps order in the Library and Study Center.

VI. LIBRARY AND STUDY CENTER MISSION STATEMENT

The Word of Life Bible Institute Library and Study Center aims to provide a growing resource base to support the academic, social, and service objectives of the Bible Institute and to instruct students and staff in the effective use of these resources. As a student support service, the Library and Study Center strives to integrate traditional library services with changing technological needs to promote scholarship and encourage the development of lifelong learning skills.

VII. LIBRARY AND STUDY CENTER OBJECTIVES

• To support the academic objective of Word of Life Bible Institute: – By providing a growing resource of books, periodicals, and other media dealing primarily with topics taught at the Bible Institute. – By providing tools to help students gain a profound working knowledge of the Bible. – By guiding students and faculty in the effective use of these resources, through Library and Study Center orientation, instruction, tutorials, reference help, and research guides. • To support the social/life objective of Word of Life Bible Institute by providing resources to help students in: – Personal and spiritual growth – Character development – Academic skills development – Planning for future study and ministry • To support the functional/service objective of Word of Life Bible Institute by providing resources to help students and staff carry out their ministries more effectively.
