ACTIVITIES G ARY M ARSHALL & A LYSSA T ORRES

I would like to thank all our hosts for our successful February events

starting with A LICE H UEPLE and M ARSHA N ELSON Valentine’s Dinner Dance, using a new caterer and an outstanding band making IT a special affair; C INDI W ILSON and L OIS C AMPBELL having a Ladies’ Luncheon different than most, a guest speaker on the subject of L UCILLE B ALL ; B OB and M ICHELLE M OOR E hosting our ever popular Potato Bake doing the usual outstanding job. We ended the month with the annual Pickleball farewell dinner dance hosted by A LICIA and B OB F OYLE with everyone having a great time. This most likely will be my last article for the Oracle since I will be leaving my position as Activities Director at the end of this season. After thirteen of them, I have many fond memories to take with me. Working with different management, board and committee members as well as volunteers, I had an opportunity to work with many different ideas and personalities all wishing to make the resort a little better. I remember, as many of us do, my first impression as I rolled into the resort. I remember thinking this is a place I would like to be a part of and after meeting the residents I felt even stronger that I had found the place for me. I have met and made many friends over the years, some remain here and some have moved on. I hope my relationships with them continue and I may be a small part of their busy lives in the future. I am happy that I will have more time with my family who have been saints allowing me to spend so much time here my second home during the season. It is difficult for me to leave something that has been such a big part of my life for my time here. I think when we all leave here for the last time there is a sadness that comes over us. I wish you all the best and I will miss you all. G ARY M ARSHALL
