Robert L. "Bob" Billingslea, Jr. 1937–2017 Influential Longtime Ex-Walt Disney Company Executive
R obert L. "Bob" Billingslea, Jr. (Gamma Tau 1961) a long- time Walt Disney Company executive, was borne away to the Chapter Invisible on September 1, 2017. He was 79. Brother Billingslea, whose formal title was Vice President for Corporate Urban Affairs, served on a host of local, state and national boards on Disney's behalf,
including the League of Black Women, the Florida Endowment Foundation for Vocational Rehabilitation (also known as the Able Trust), and several NAACP committees and boards. He was also an ambassador to the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida, a trust- ee for Bethune-Cookman University and an adviser to the Central Florida Urban League. And he intends to remain active
in local affairs.
Brother Billingslea spent 42 years with Disney and retired in December 2012. He began his career as a senior person- nel representative at Disneyland in Ana- heim, California, but moved to Central Florida ahead of Walt Disney World's opening in 1971.
