Once the young lawyer got the right answer, Jesus chal- lenged him to go and do the same thing with his life. What would Jesus do? Jesus would show mercy.” “When conflict comes, are you going to take the convenient route and go on the other side of the road?” “As a Black man, I can readily identify with the Good Samaritan who broke all barriers and all traditions and went and minis- tered to the 'certain man' who had fallen among thieves. God can send someone you least expect and lift you up out of the muck and the miry clay.” “My brothers and sisters I thank God for that story. And I say to all the friends of Jesus in this house, and particularly I’m talking to the Kappas, you are doing some great things. But there is a mass of Black humanity out there lying in the ditch pul- verized, beaten. They need somebody to lift a helping hand...These are very serious times. We have a Pharaoh on the throne who does not know Joseph.
