Second, we must maintain our human connection skills. In a world of smart phones, social media and non-human interfaces, technology is making it easy for us to diminish our verbal and written communica- tions and our interpersonal relationship skills. Third, we should surround ourselves with people who don’t think like us because innovation and learning are at it’s best when there is diversity of thought. Fourth, we should avoid places where we are merely accommodated versus appreciated. This is how our hopes and our dreams have a chance to become real- ity.

Finally, we should always take time to remember where we have come from and thank God every day.
