KAPPA NEWS: BYRON K. ARMSTRONG AWARDEE—CHRISTOPHER WEATHERS II
F irst and foremost, I would like to thank Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and the Byron K. Armstrong selection committee for choosing me as a recipi- ent for an award of this caliber. I would also like to thank my parents Christopher (Pi 1985) and Lori Weathers for molding, shaping, and raising me into the man that I am today. I would not be here without their help. And I cannot forget to mention my home, the Pi of Kappa Alpha Psi at Morehouse College, for refining my skills and positioning me to achieve at my highest potential. I am extremely humbled and honored to have received the Byron Kenneth Armstrong award. This award represents high academic achievement, and I have dedicated my schooling career for this very objective. From a very early age, I have always valued academics. Knowledge is our ticket to shape the future in the way that is best for us and we need to continue to instill the values of education to our youth. In the wise words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the
world.”
I would also like to thank the Grand Chapter, Grand Polemarch Thomas L. Battles, Jr., Southeastern Province Province Polemarch E. Delane Rosemond, the Atlanta (GA) Alumni Chapter, Polemarch Norman Johnson, Lodriguez Murray for their advice, and assistance for the rigorous application process. I would also like to note that due to un- foreseen circumstances, I was unable to attend the awards banquet, but I will carry this achievement close to my heart. I am honored to be a part of this noble Klan. Lastly, I would like to send off thanks to all of the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi ® that continue to teach me the values and morals, of a true Kappa man. I cannot explain to you how grateful I am for this award. Thank you!
Accepting the award on his behalf is advisor, Darren Wil- liams.
