CALENDAR CRAZE In any given year, no other month begins or ends on the same day of the week as May. For example, May 1, 2019 is a Wednesday, while May 31 is a Friday. No other month in 2019 begins on a Wednesday or ends on a Friday.

The birthstone associated with May is the emerald, which signifies rebirth and youth and is thought to grant the wearer foresight. This rare and highly precious stone is mined primarily in Afghanistan, Brazil, Colombia, and Zambia.
