TREX ENHANCE™ STEEL RAILING AND TREX SELECT™ STEEL MESH PANELS CARE AND CLEANING GUIDE
Maintaining the appearance of Trex Steel Railing and Steel Mesh Panels is important. After installation of any Trex railing system, it is recommended to complete an initial cleaning to remove any dirt or contaminants that may have accumulated during installation. Regular cleaning is also recommended as, over time, your railing system may show signs of weathering because of exposure to the elements. Regular cleaning may minimize the effects of weathering and remove dirt, grime and other build-up. The frequency of cleaning depends on the environment, exposure to, and accumulation of, various types of elements or contaminants that could affect the coating, and the standard of appearance. Trex recommends cleaning at quarterly intervals (every 3 months). In areas with higher potential for accumulation of deposits, including areas of installation outside of 1 mile of saltwater where the atmosphere is still influenced by bodies of saltwater* or other contaminant conditions, Trex recommends increasing the frequency of cleaning to at least once monthly. Trex recommends cleaning using a solution of warm water and a non-abrasive, pH neutral detergent solution, such as those in the below Table. The railing surface should be thoroughly rinsed after cleaning to remove all residues. Use a soft white cloth, sponge or a soft bristle brush. It is recommended to test cleaning products on a small, inconspicuous area before use to remove all residues. WARNING: Avoid using scouring pads, harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they can scratch the surface and remove the protective coating. Failure to adhere to these cleaning guidelines will void the Trex Limited Warranty* with respect to any condition resulting from such failure.
