DEAN DIALOGUE
FACTS & FIGURES
King’s Business School’s commitment to diversity is supported by a mentoring scheme that partners every female undergraduate and all students from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds with an alumnus or alumna for six months of one-to-one career development support. Collaboration between faculties at the university as a whole is also important, with King’s Business School academics involved in the recently launched King’s Population Health Institute, a research arm bidding to tackle health inequalities. The school’s community is growing and there are now estimated to be more than 9,000 alumni based in 118 different countries. The wider alumni network of King’s College London, meanwhile, numbers some 250,000 people worldwide.

What has AMBA accreditation and membership of the AMBA network meant for your school? “AMBA accreditation completed our triple crown just five years into our existence as a fully rounded business school and was a very visible sign that the quality of our education and research was on a par with long-established, globally known schools. “More importantly, it has given us a framework for developing in a way that is true to what we want to achieve as a community. The most visible example is in our executive MBA programme and we were delighted that the panel commended us on its distinctiveness. We have also made new connections through the AMBA network and colleagues from the school have sat on accreditation panels. This is a useful experience on both sides in terms of learning, continuous improvement and supporting the high standards expected in the AMBA community.” How would you describe your business school’s unique selling point to other members of the AMBA network? “Our key strength is using our connectivity to change lives and businesses for the better. We are part of one of the world’s true global cities and a multi-faculty university, giving us connectivity to everything that shapes modern organisations. “We use that advantage to full effect, from our research centres for sustainable business and global banking and finance, to our new I-LEAD (innovation, leadership, education and development) centre for business education, as well as specialist programmes such as our MSc in MedTech Innovation & Entrepreneurship that is offered in partnership with our renowned health faculties.” Associate dean, quality enhancement and accreditation King’s Business School, King’s College London
