At Army Navy Country Club, we are committed to fostering growth, both within our team and in the broader global community. In January 2024, we took a bold step forward by purchasing a 9-unit apartment building to house J1 Visa workers on 12-month programs. This initiative aligns with our mission to provide meaningful opportunities while addressing staffing needs in a way that is mutually beneficial for both ANCC and the J1 participants. The apartment building initiative has brought tremendous valueto ANCC, providing J1 workers with a transformative experience that equips them with valuable skills and memories to take back to their home countries. Simultaneously, it has helped ANCC meet critical staffing needs, ensuring that our members continue to enjoy the exceptional service they expect. For our existing team, it’s been a chance to grow, lead, and innovate, creating a culture of progress and inclusivity. At ANCC, we believe in investing in people— whether they’re J1 workers or long-standing team members. The apartment building is more than just a housing solution; it’s a testament to our dedication to creating opportunities, fostering growth, and building futures that inspire pride in our community. Overall Experience
ANCC Fairfax Gardens
The vegetable and herb gardens at our Fairfax Clubhouse are thriving! We are starting to pick fully matured banana peppers, chili peppers, green bell peppers and jalapenos. We have started using the banana peppers as a pickled item and will start to pickle the jalapenos in the coming weeks. Other garden vegetables that should be ready for harvesting soon include cherry tomatoes, corn, and habanero peppers! The herb garden is flourishing as well—we have 4 fully matured basil plants, parsley, and a ton of mint. We also have flowering lavender, oregano, flowering dill plants, and lemon thyme growing strong. We use the parsley, basil, mint, and thyme on a weekly basis.
The 2024 CCSDA Championship Swim Meet will go down as one of the greatest moments in Army Navy Country Club history. Not only did ANCC claim the top spot for the first time since 1980, but we did it while hosting the championship—making this victory in our centennial year even sweeter! Step into the heart of ANCC, where our commitment to people goes far beyond the lush greens and elegant clubhouse. It’s a commitment that reaches into the very fabric of our community, weaving connections that make a meaningful impact. In a testament to this dedication, we are delighted to share the inspiring story of one of our team members who has taken on the role of a Puppy Raiser for Canine Companions. Thaddeus, a source of joy for our Team Members and Membership, spends three days a week in our Human Resources Department, getting familiar with the work environment.
