The project will include collecting 1,000 water samples at 10 school buildings, one day care center, and three other administrative buildings. The collected samples will be analyzed for lead content and a comprehensive findings re - port will be presented to the Millville BOE prior to July 2, 2022. The competitive request for proposals was a result of New Jersey regulations found in N.J.A.C. 6A:26-1.2 ad 12.4, which requires testing for lead in drinking water for all educa- tion facilities. Lead in drinking water is not new nor prevalent in New Jersey alone. Just last month, the issue once again took center stage when it was reported that

lead had been found in 61% of schools within The School District of Philadelphia. As a result of these district-wide findings, both education and environmental advocates are calling for immediate action as there is no safe level of lead in drinking water. “Sampling and testing for lead is one of our most frequent- ly requested services,” said Michael Menz, CIH, CHMM , the founder and president of IEC and native of Millville, NJ. “Knowing the negative impact lead in drinking water can have on people of all ages and even more so for children, we are very pleased to have been awarded this job. To do so in the hometown where I grew up makes it personal and I’m proud to work hand-in-hand with the schools that were at one time my place of early education.” Indoor Environmental Con- cepts, LLC is an industrial
