Location: Maple Shade, New Jersey Size: 120,000 SF, 3-Story Type of Project: Redevelopment of an existing site into a self-storage facility The Feldman Companies, a Florida-based real estate devel - oper, engaged Stout & Caldwell to provide comprehensive civil engineering and surveying services for the redevelop - ment of an existing site into a state-of-the-art three-story 120,000 square foot self-storage facility. Led by firm part - ners, the project team was responsible for conceptual and major site plans, construction stakeout, AutoCAD services and boundary, topographic, ALTA, utilities and highway surveys. The scope encompassed a Phase I Environmen - tal Assessments, Environmental Impact Statement, Flood Zone Classification and other environmental studies. Addi - tionally, traffic engineering, auto turn analysis, parking lot design, landscape planning, permitting and planning board testimony was required.
Location: Townsend, Delaware Size: 571,000 SF, 272-Acre Site Type of Project: Master planned K-12 Campus with shared Performing Arts Center & Athletic Stadium Facilities The award-winning Fairview Campus is Delaware’s first pub - lic K-12 campus, recognized for setting new standards for school development. With unique, low-impact stormwater elements – combined with shared building components and site infrastructure – a large tract of prime land was able to re - main intact and meet all of the community’s educational needs in one campus setting, rather than on four separate sites with costly redundancies. With the approval of variances, an origi - nal design for sharing parking and bus loading areas eliminated about 10 acres of impervious surfaces. This helped maintain natural habitat, improve water quality, and saved construction, operating and maintenance costs.

Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) recently part - nered with ECS to guide them through the commission - ing process for building envelope (BECx) during the replacement of Urbana Elementary School. The BECx team worked with the project team to discuss prior per - formance issues and develop an Owner Project Require - ment (OPR) and BECx plan that clearly defined perfor - mance metrics and outlined a process to meet or exceed these expectations in the final product. The plan included activities to verify design and construction conformance with performance expectations through design review, submittal review, on-site performance mockup testing, on-site observations, field performance verification test - ing, and issue tracking/resolution.
