L’étude de gestion du trafic et le plan de réalignement proposé pour l’intersection EFMBSPVUFEFTDPNUÊTÆ8FOEPWFSTPOU motivés par le nombre de nouveaux déve- loppements résidentiels dans le village et par la création du parc commercial Alfred- Plantagenet adjacent à l’intersection. Les CUPR veut donc s’assurer que la conception des voies de circulation à l’intersection permettra de faire face à l’augmentation du trafic de voitures et de camions, ainsi qu’à celle du trafic de poids lourds. Les travaux de réalignement de l’intersection pourraient impliquer l’ajout de voies auxiliaires pour les virages, des mesures de sécurité pour les piétons et des modifications du système de feux de circulation existant.

It likely originally came from Mongolia growing alongside the river banks of what is now the Volga River (and what was once known as the Rha). &WFOUVBMMZJUNBEFJUTXBZJOUPBODJFOU Roman hands, and they called it “rha bar- barum” – the Romans, according to culinary historian Mark Morton, presumed that any- thing that came from outside their empire was “barbaric.” This may explain the historical origin of a slang term that, in the 1930s in the favou- rite summer sport, baseball, described an old timey nasty shouting match and rowdy, aggressive altercation as a “rhubarb.” So, it came to be that, over centuries of evolving languages and cultural tweaking UISPVHI-BUJO 'SFODIBOE&OHMJTI XFIBWF the word and the plant rhubarb. The plant likely started off not in the kitchen but for its presumed quality as a medicinal ingredient rather than as a foods- tuff – no doubt an irony when you consider that the leaves, rich in oxalic acid, are often considered poisonous and potentially dangerous. In recipes, keep cooking liquids to a minimum quantity because it will dilute the colour of the rhubarb. Adding a bit of baking soda to a recipe can help reduce the acidity of your baked rhubarb dish. Rhubarb has versatility for sweet and savoury applications; for instance, it is often part of Iranian and Afghan stews and other dishes and is used as you would use spinach. You can always enjoy making a classic rhubarb and strawberry pie – sometimes the tried-and-true tastes best. But experiment with combining rhubarb, strawberries, sugar and water in a pot and simmer it down as a simple syrup for use in summery cocktails known has “shrubs” on the back patio. During a quick trip across the river to Thurso and Ripon, Quebec, I spotted a few batches of rhubarb in small markets. It’s a fruit (or is it a vegetable?) I often forget is out there at this time of the year. The crop grows plentifully across the country, but some of the best stalks are coming out of the fields as we speak – and for a short time only. Des chercheurs chinois ont réussi avec succès à utiliser l’immunothérapie pour combattre des tumeurs solides, ce qui représente une percée importante dans ce domaine. L’immunothérapie est en pleine ébullition et est à l’origine des percées les plus pro- metteuses réalisées dans la lutte contre le cancer depuis une dizaine d’années, mais les succès remportés l’ont surtout été face à des cancers liquides, ou hématopoïétiques, comme des leucémies. «C’est frustrant, parce que les tumeurs solides sont beaucoup plus fréquentes que les tumeurs hématopoïétiques», a déploré le docteur André Veillette, un spécialiste de l’immunothérapie à l’Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal. L’immunothérapie consiste à modifier certaines cellules du système immunitaire, les lymphocytes T, avec un récepteur antigé- nique chimérique (abrégé CAR en anglais) pour qu’elles puissent reconnaître et cibler des protéines à la surface d’autres cellules, par exemple à la surface de cellules tumorales. Une fois modifiées, les cellules CAR-T sont donc en mesure de repérer, d’attaquer et de détruire les cellules cancéreuses. Le problème face aux tumeurs solides, a expliqué le docteur Veillette, en est essen- tiellement un d’accès: les cellules CAR-T ont beau circuler dans le sang, elles se cognent souvent le nez contre la porte quand elles atteignent leur cible.
