WGO-18: Women’s 18 Hole Golf Organization

Summer is in full swing, and so are the WGO-18 ladies —bringing the heat to the course every Tuesday and Friday! Our Red, White & Blue tournament and luncheon celebrating July 4th was a festive event, with Team White taking the win. Congratulations to the top net ABCD scramble team: Maile Fries, Claudia Cavanaugh, Mary Ann Cronin, and Corrie Morsey! Play continues throughout the summer, and the winner of the WGO-18 Championship , a two-day event on 29 July and 1 August , will be announced next month. For more details, reach out to Membership Chair Ruth Daly at ruthadaly@verizon.net . Some of the members of the winning White Team are photogaphed on the right.

CWGO: Career Women’s Golf Organization

The CWGO recently held its CWGO-Junior Member Golf Tournament in which our members were paired with juniors from the ANCC golf programs to participate in a friendly competition. The CWGO would like to extend its gratitude and appreciation to Jimmy Kowalski for his steadfast commitment to this event year-after-year and for making this tournament such an important CWGO tradition. This event has become a magical evening for the Juniors, their parents, and certainly the CWGO members. In addition, the Career Women Golf Interclub Golf League, fondly known as “Interclub,” is off to an amazing start of the season. While two of the first four matches have been rained out and will be rescheduled, ANCC has come out strong in its other two matches, defeating Belle Haven (40-32) and Springfield (42-30)! We are continuing to have great turnout for our weeknight playdays, which are held on Wednesdays at Arlington and Thursdays at Fairfax. We have also reworked our Saturday play day events and hope you will join us! Please see our webpage for information on how to sign up. If you are considering membership and have any questions, please contact CWGO.membership@gmail.com .
