Eating in London Tipping isn’t mandatory in London and while tipping is encouraged, it’s not required. Many restaurants and bars add a 12.5% service charge to the bill automatically – you can request for it to be removed if the service has been dreadful. Otherwise, 10-15% for a tip is appreciated.
