Throughout their lives, Seville and Rachaell Ko have faced tremendous setbacks and challenges. Yet through it all, they’ve maintained unwavering belief in a better future. That belief, combined with hard work, leadership, service to others, and coachability, has transformed them into inspiring leaders who have assisted thousands in strengthening their own beliefs and finding unparalleled success. And the Kos are just getting started!
and uncle. It was at an early age that he began to develop his big goals and even bigger dreams as a way of coping with the trauma. Through his adopted father, Seville fell in love with athletics and football—his uncle being one of his first coaches. That’s when Seville realized that belief doesn’t mean much unless it’s combined with an all-out obsessive work ethic. “Football was where I built discipline and learned the importance of teamwork,” Seville recalls. “I was the three-sport star athlete that didn’t have to be told twice. When the coach told me what to do, I just focused on my job and ran the play.” That focus and dedication turned into one of the most successful high school football careers in Missouri state history. In his senior year, he ran 2,404 yards and scored 33 touchdowns, putting him in the all-time top 20 of the Missouri high school record books. Seville went on to to earn a football scholarship and play as a starter at Emporia State University and then became a graduate assistant coach while earning a master’s degree in human performance and wellness at Pittsburgh State University in Kansas—the all-time winningest football program in Division II history. His big dream was the NFL, but when that didn’t happen, he already had a backup plan in play. “One thing that’s unique about me is that I’m really good at thinking pragmatically about my situation,” he says. “When the NFL dream

hrough the centuries, philosophers have debated the meaning, power, and impact of hope and belief. For Aristotle, they were seen as a waking dream. David Hume saw them as a vivid or lively idea. Twentieth-century thinkers were not as abstract, recognizing hope and belief as aspects of individual potential and as historical forces. But it was psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl who observed that hope and belief are tangibly powerful—even life sustaining—noting that while every external factor may align against you, one single act of internal defiance can outweigh it all. While Seville Ko didn’t grow up studying philosophy, he did develop an internal belief in himself and his future that was large enough to help him withstand and overcome every obstacle life threw his way. With 18 years in entrepreneurship and many failures along the way, he has paid a full price for the success he and Rachaell have built today. Seville’s childhood was anything but stable. He attended seven different schools and bounced around several homes before finally being adopted by his aunt

didn’t happen, I just said, ‘Okay, what’s the next dream?’ At 19, I started my own business training athletes on the side, so that was just a natural plan B.” Throughout his 20s and early 30s, Seville tried his hand at numerous MLM and traditional businesses, looking for something that would fulfill the dreams and goals he’d held on to since he was a child. “I’m never afraid to try things,” he says. “And if they don’t work, I’ll try something else. That’s the athletic spirit I learned from football. If I get knocked down, I get back up.” During those years, Seville owned his own gym, was a national men’s physique fitness competitor, and tried several home- based businesses, but nothing delivered the stability and success he was looking for. The MLM businesses he invested so much of his time into turned out to be overpriced and overhyped. And with their requisite overhead and expenses, he found that the traditional businesses ended up owning him. So he kept returning to MLMs, lured by the grand promises of time freedom and limitless success. After yet another failed venture despite their best efforts, Seville and Rachaell were on their last lifeline. They had amassed $30,000 in credit card debt and were living in Rachaell’s sister’s spare bedroom. With an eight-month-old son to care for, Seville was determined to never put his family and friends at risk again. Through it all, he never lost his staunch belief in a brighter future. He never loosened his grasp on his boyhood dreams. They simply meant too much. It was this determination that eventually led him to Melaleuca Presidential Director Jeff Miller. Jeff had consistently been reaching out to Seville over the past two years, and Seville decided it was finally time to hear
what he had to say. “Jeff’s energy was so humble and calm,” Seville remembers. “It wasn’t his status or his income that initially impressed me. I could feel that he genuinely wanted to help me, not just benefit his own bottom line. He was so different from anyone else.” And though Seville was impressed with Jeff, he wanted to make sure Melaleuca was right for his family. “Truthfully, I was looking for something I could commit to for 30-plus years,” Seville says. “I wanted something safe that my family could count on and that didn’t hurt others. Now that I was a father, my whole guidance system had changed. I wanted to see data
and results. If Jeff hadn’t shown me reports of real customers buying real products (and they’re not being paid a dime to do so), I wouldn’t have joined him.” Jeff gave Seville reports as well as a simple game plan, and that changed everything. “I’m a numbers guy, and Jeff gave me a real simple breakdown of what Melaleuca was all about,” Seville says. “I saw that Melaleuca was a shopping club, except everything’s online. I saw that they were an American company, that their products were more natural than other companies’ products. I saw the convenience of online shopping and delivery. I saw a 37-year

track record of growth in North America. But most importantly, I saw that you didn’t have to be a superstar to succeed with Melaleuca. This was something the average person could do. I also saw that Melaleuca offered something that customers would find value in no matter what.” But there was something else that really stuck out. “With Melaleuca, your repeat income can grow consistently on the back end as your customer base grows,” Seville says. “I understood the power of repeat income. It’s what I had been looking for since day one. That’s why I chose Melaleuca. That and the retention. After all, it’s one thing to have short-term success, but 96% monthly retention is what truly makes this a business for a lifetime.” Seeing that Melaleuca aligned with their beliefs and offered a real vehicle to reach their goals, Seville and Rachaell got to work! “My philosophy is pretty simple,” Seville explains. “Find someone who has the succuss you want and do exactly what they do.” In Melaleuca, Seville found so many 20–30-year success stories that he knew his team could find success no matter when they enrolled or at what pace they grew. He credits much of his success to being coachable, willing to learn, and being open to change. “I have my own unique talents,” he explains, “but let’s be clear: Melaleuca was a machine before I ever got here. This business is really simple. You just have to be willing to execute the play and help your team win.” For the first time after so many failures, Seville’s belief was taking root and growing into real success. “With Melaleuca, I stopped following the hype and the short-term trends,” he says. “I switched my focus from myself to others. Now I get the most excited about creating
the next big success story! The more success I have, the harder I go because I never know when I’m going to find the next Seville and Rachaell who are praying for a lifeline.” Having advanced to Corporate Director 2, Seville still recognizes that success is a team effort. “The thing I love the most is that this business is a team sport,” he says. “I don’t believe there’s self-made success. That’s just not true. My many mentors and opportunities have been brought to me by God for sure. But it has always come down to a stranger or two believing in me before I believed in myself. I’m literally just a by-product of a handful of people who believed in me. I just make sure to do my part and make the maximum contribution.” Even now, as he talks about all he and Rachaell have accomplished with Melaleuca, Seville is most excited about his team’s success. “These guys are some of our closest friends now,” he explains. “The majority believed in us even before all the accolades.” In fact, Seville is proudest of the fact that his team has earned more than $3.2 million. “We have helped more than 40 families earn more than six figures,” Seville says. “My team consists of regular, hardworking families. I like to call us the farm team because in Melaleuca you reap what you sow. I knew Melaleuca would be safe for my team, but there is no way I could have imagined it playing out like this. Every day, I’m so grateful.” For Seville, Melaleuca is a vehicle that has helped him accomplish what he’s believed in his whole life. “Melaleuca’s Mission Statement was perfectly in line with my life philosophy,” he explains. “I didn’t need to learn the mission. I already believed it. That’s why I look at finding new business partners like saving lives.
“I also saw that Melaleuca offered something that customers would find value in no matter what.”

We have an option that can literally be a lifesaver. I know because of where I was before Melaleuca. So I look at what I do as a huge responsibility. The worst thing you can do is shortchange the opportunity or get complacent. I share the full vision, give them the game plan, believe in them, support them all along the way, and expect success.” As he’s expected success—and demanded improvement from himself—Seville has experienced life-changing results. The Ko family recently moved to Naples,
Florida, and he’s enjoying incredible time freedom with his three children, Malakai (4), Xavier (3), and Faith (17 months). “The neighborhood we live in now is an exact carbon copy of what we visualized,” he explains. “I always say that in life, you don’t get what you want; you get what you picture. And this is exactly what we pictured for so long.” And while his life today is very different from the one he experienced as a child, Seville doesn’t take a single moment for granted. “My greatest joy is having the
ability to spend time with my kids,” he says. “These are precious moments! I don’t have to go too far back in my experience to know firsthand how much the average family is struggling right now. So I’ve got to have the courage to reach out to others because it’s not about me. It’s all about who I can help become the next success story. Even when you feel behind on your goals, just know your timeline is someone else’s lifeline.” While they are excited about this advancement, Seville and Rachaell show no signs of slowing down. “I’ve already moved the target,” Seville says. “My next goal is Presidential Director, and I know that will require me to work with 10 new families and help them get to Senior Director and then Executive Director. It’s a goal big enough to push myself to continue to grow and serve others. There’s no way I’m even thinking about retiring right now. I’m too young, and our lives have been too blessed to keep this gift to ourselves. Service to many is what leads to greatness. In my mind, we haven’t made it. In fact, I hope I never think, ‘I made it,’ because that’s when you can lose it all. Humility will take you further than genius!” With belief that strong and a dedication to developing more leaders, it’s only a matter of time before Seville and Rachaell crush their next big goal!

Chelsie & Bo Gilbert MISSISSIPPI Get a Little Braver
Chelsie’s newfound courage all began with a Convention 2022 workshop that coached Marketing Executives to forget their chicken list and focus on their “big fish” list. “They told us to focus on those we know who are already making a difference in others’ lives,” she says. “That made me realize it was time to start reaching out to the people who I am scared to approach but who I know would love it here.” For Chelsie, the approach is everything. “I’m not only very intentional about who I approach, but I also make sure that what I say and how I say it is very genuine,” she explains. “My approach is completely tailored to that person—why I’m thinking of them, why I’d love to work with them, why Melaleuca is a great fit for them, and how it would enhance their lives. And even if they say, ‘Not right now,’ I have planted the seed, and they know I had the best intentions when I approached them.” Her genuine approaches are just a natural result of sharing something she loves. “I want people to be able to experience what I have here,” Chelsie explains. “My life changed with just one message from Corporate Director 4 Ashley Olive, and I can never thank her enough. It would be selfish of me to not share what this company has done for me and my family!” Chelsie is also quick to point out that this latest advancement would have never been possible without her team. “I honestly cannot take the credit at all,” she says. “I work with some incredible women. I’m just so grateful for them every day.”
Something changed for Chelsie while attending Convention 2022. She had always been consistent in presenting Melaleuca, but she realized there was one thing she needed to change. “I realized I needed to be bolder when sharing Melaleuca,” Chelsie explains. “I honestly kept feeling that there were certain people the Lord was laying on my heart. But I was too nervous to reach out to them.” In an act of courage, Chelsie composed a text to her friend, Morgan Martin, while on the plane ride home. “I was nervous as all get-out,” Chelsie explains. “I typed out the longest message you would ever read in your life, but I sent it.” It took Morgan a few hours to respond to the “book” Chelsie sent her, but taking the risk paid off for both Chelsie and Morgan. Morgan not only enrolled with Melaleuca but also advanced her business on Pacesetter time frame! “I’m so glad I had the bravery to reach out,” Chelsie says, “because if I didn’t someone else may have approached her with some other opportunity. But they could never offer what Melaleuca can.”

her team often create together by video conference to foster camaraderie and maximize creativity. “It’s easier to orient yourself around your goals if you can visualize them in front of you,” she explains. “If you don’t have things you want to run away from, then focus on the things you want to run toward, such as taking your family on vacation or becoming debt-free.” According to Laura, everyone can benefit from The Wellness Company, so she doesn’t discriminate when she shares Melaleuca’s products and the business opportunity. “Never write someone off because you think they don’t need what we have here,” she says. “A lot of people aren’t open about their struggles (I know I wasn’t), so just assume that everyone has a need for healthier products or extra income.” And if you’re worried about alienating friends and family by sharing your enthusiasm for Melaleuca products? Laura’s advice is to acknowledge your fears without letting them control you. “You have to put what other people think of you out of your mind,” she says. “If I had let those worries hold me back, I would never have changed my life.” Melaleuca has been Laura’s lifeboat—one that she hopes to pull as many people into as possible. “For me, it was really awesome to join a company that allowed me to buy healthier products and earn extra money at a time when I was really struggling financially,” Laura says. “And I feel like anyone can do what we do here! IMPORTANCE OF THE STRATEGY SESSION
Are you interested in how senior Marketing Executives capture the attention of new business builders? In her landmark presentation at Convention 2022, former Marketing Executive of the Year Krista Wineinger outlined the steps for planning and conducting successful Strategy Sessions.

Strategy Sessions are my favorite part of this business. And to be honest, I think it just may be the most important Critical Business-Building Activity we have. You can’t help other people change their lives if you’re not helping them move forward in their businesses—and that starts with a Strategy Session. I’m not someone who typically gets eight enrollments in a month. I’ve done it a few times, but it doesn’t happen a lot. So that means that, with fewer enrollments, I have to be better helping those I do enroll become leaders. All of the growth in your business is going to begin in your Strategy Session. You need to personally meet every single Category 2 and 3 enrollee who comes into your organization. In your Business Reports, pay attention to the last tab on M.O.R.E. that identifies every Category
2 and 3. I print that off and make sure to set meetings with every single person. If you’re not meeting early on with every Category 2 and 3, then you’re dropping the ball in a really important area. TIPS for a Successful Strategy Session Meet In Person I believe Strategy Sessions should all be done in person if at all possible. I understand that some of us have businesses that span the country. I have customers who are out of state, and it’s impossible to meet with them in person. But I’m meeting face-to-face with anybody I can get together with. Why is that important? Think about how we as humans make strong connections. You meet somebody in
person and guarantee them you’re going to change their future. I want to meet with them belly to belly, look at them straight in the eyeballs, and say, “If you want to throw in with our team, we’ll change your life.” And that changes them. They kind of get the shivers. Meet One-on-One All of your Strategy Sessions should be done individually. I can count on two hands the number of times I have met with more than one person at a time during a Strategy Session. I do not do group Strategy Sessions. Why? Because that meeting should focus on changing one person’s future. It’s the meeting where we’re going to talk about personal finances. We’re going to talk about where they are at in their life and where they want to be. And if you have other people
