During the raid, police also seized an assortment of equipment suspected of use in growing marijuana, producing cannabis resin, and for trafficking illegal drug pro- ducts.

Trail rider groups negotiate The City of Clarence-Rockland is going to try and help broker an agreement between the ATV Club of Eastern Ontario (ATVCEO) and the Eastern Ontario Snowmobile Club (EOSC) for trail use within the municipality. Councillor Michel Levert will organize a meeting for representatives of the two groups, along with himself and other city officials, to try and work an agreement on which existing trail routes are suitable for sharing, which ones are not, designating potential new routes, and also clarifying which municipal roads may serve as links between snowmobile and ATV trails under provincial government’s off-road user guidelines. – Gregg Chamberlain Five residents of Alfred-Plantagenet Township face charges following a police raid in support of a Canadian Border Services investigation of suspected drug smuggling. Armed with a search warrant, police raided a site in Alfred-Plantagenet Township on June 8.The raid was a joint effort between the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Community Drug Action Teamand the OPP Emergency Response Team. They were supporting a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) investigation concerning suspect packages brought into Canada. The CBSA investiga- tion had determined that a number of pac- kages seized in transit containedmarijuana clones meant for delivery to a residence in the township. Police arrested Anthony Rouillard, 39, Jeremiah Rouillard, 18, Diane Theoret, 54, JesseWhitford, 19, and Jacqueline Spenard, 24, all of Alfred-Plantagenet Township. Seized during the raid were a number of marijuana plants, marijuana clones, some cannabis resin, some Canadian currency,
Jeremiah Rouillard, Theoret and Whit- ford are each charged under federal drug laws with production of marijuana and pos- session of an illegal drug exceeding three kilograms in amount for the purpose of trafficking. They are also all charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and with careless storage of a firearm and/or ammunition. Spenard is charged with pro- duction of marijuana. The two Rouillards,Theoret and Spenard were released under a promise to appear at the July 27 provincial court session in L’Orignal. Whitford was held in custody over- night for a provincial court bail hearing the following day. He was then released with a scheduled June 15 provincial court appea- rance in L’Orignal.
Anthony Rouillard is charged under fede- ral drug laws with single counts of marijuana production, importing and possession of illegal drug substances, and two counts of possession of illegal drugs in quantities exceeding three kilograms for the purpose of trafficking. He is also charged with unau- thorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm and/or ammunition, and possession of property obtained through crime exceeding $5,000 in value.
