RENDEZ-VOUS
Considering Dubai's unique cultural landscape, how does L'ÉCOLE incorporate local heritage and artistry into its teachings? What made you bring the School of Jewelry Arts to Dubai? Dubai's rich cultural heritage and vibrant creative scene made it an ideal location for L'ÉCOLE. We incorporate local elements by showcasing regional Jewelry traditions, collaborating with local artisans and institutions, and developing teaching materials that explore regional influences. The decision to bring L'ÉCOLE to Dubai was driven by the city's dynamic growth as a global hub for design and creativity, offering a unique platform to engage a broader audience and nurture local talent. Could you tell us more about the link between L’ÉCOLE and Dubai Cares? L'ÉCOLE Middle East is deeply committed to social responsibility, and as part of this commitment, we donate 100% of the proceeds from our public courses and talks to Dubai Cares. This partnership reflects our dedication to empowering future generations through education. By supporting Dubai Cares, we are contributing to improving access to quality education for children and young people in developing countries, which is an essential part of our mission.
How important is it to cultivate an appreciation for craftsmanship among the next generation of jewellers, and how does L'ÉCOLE help achieve this? At L'ÉCOLE, we emphasise hands-on learning, nurture a passion for art, science, beauty and excellence, foster collaboration, and connect students with industry professionals. These elements are critical in developing the next generation of talent who will carry forward the tradition of excellence in Jewelry making. What are your top three luxuries? Time, travel, and art & culture. These things enrich my life, broaden my perspectives, and allow me to appreciate the beauty and creativity that surround us. They are essential to my personal and professional well- being.
