ART
UNESCO PROJECT To celebrate the 50th anniversary of UNESCO's World Heritage Site programme, Sacha was commissioned for an Art Maze: 50 oil on canvas works depicting 50 of the world's most celebrated cultural landmarks. Unveiled on the Burj Al Arab helipad, the artworks then travelled worldwide from Mount Kilimanjaro to the Pyramids and Mount Everest and to UNESCO HQ in Paris, in partnership with the Louvre Paris. "The idea is to reconnect us away from the digital world to the beauty of our natural world." Looking to the future, we asked Sacha what he made of AI, NFTs and digital art. "We have this debate with art every 25 years: what is the future of art, and how have we evolved? At the end of the day, humanity is made of two words: love and empathy. When the two are combined with art, something truly magical happens. If that's what it is all about, we should never worry about whether something is or isn’t "art" or get into a debate about NFTs, AI or new tech
art. We should say, is it good? Can I connect with it? That's the only thing that matters."
Sacha believes the future doesn't lie in technology but in 'being human', a lasting power inside us. His "Journey through Humanity" was greatly inspired by children. "The greatest gift is our childhood," says Sacha, "we are told to forget that and be grown up, but in reality, we need to focus on keeping our inner child alive forever because that's our magic, that's our essence.”
