Dear Friends and Colleagues:
“Going green” is no longer a fringe movement. Global climate change is a scientifically proven fact that is in the news every day, and corporate sustainability is a familiar term. Green building has transformed from a “wish list” item into a mission imperative in many corporate settings. With this rise in environmental impetus, comes a greater demand for a workforce that is equipped to carry out these goals. According to Wanted Analytics, a firm that tracks hiring data, sustainability jobs in the US more than doubled between 2010 and 2014.

FLORENCE BLOCK As you may already know, USGBC NJ has received a grant from the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development to provide green building and sustainability training for employees of qualifying NJ businesses. I would like to personally invite you to submit your application for Grant Funded LEED and Related Sustainability Training for CEUs and credentials. Courses include: LEED 201 Core Concepts & Strategies/ LEED v4 Exam Prep; LEEP AP courses; GPRO for Trades including GPRO Fundamentals, Construction Management, Plumbing, Electrical, and Operations & Maintenance, and the new GPRO for Homes. Having a GPRO certified individual on a LEED project will earn that project 1 LEED credit. We also provide one-hour webinars on a variety of topics. Late winter and spring are desired timeframes for training, and we are currently accepting registrations for upcoming courses. Private classes at company locations are available for groups of 10 or greater.
