SM RT brief

The second Texas Roadhouse in Wichita opened on February 26 at 2526 N. Greenwich . The new location, which sits in front of Academy Sports & Outdoors near K-96 , is the chain's 555th Texas Roadhouse. The city’s first Texas Roadhouse opened in 2004 on West Kellogg and has been almost perpetually busy since. The company’s spokesman says it is unusual for them to open two locations in one city but Wichita has proven a good market for the chain. Texas Roadhouse’s sister concept, Bubba’s 33 , opened near Towne East two years ago. Gander Outdoor and Camping World are coming to Wichita. A deal was finalized to bring the two stores to south Wichita as part of the Steeple Bay development which sits on 80 acres near I-235 and Seneca . Marc Lemonis , CEO of Camping World, purchased Gander Mountain out of bankrupcy last year. It was previously announced via Twitter that Gander Outdoor would be moving into the former Gander Mountain building at 605 S. Wichita St . Construction of the new stores is expected to begin later this year and will likely open in the early to middle part of next year. The smoothie and juice bar 86 Cold Press is moving a few doors down. The business, which opened in 2016, has started to outgrow its current space at 612 E. Douglas . 86 Cold Press will rebrand as an urban juice cafe and serve food prepared by Evolve Paleo Chef . The current location only seats about 15 to 20 people, but the new space at 600 E. Douglas will be able to seat triple that amount. The new location is between Espresso to Go Go and Old Mill Tasty Shop .
