Leadership and Management • Motivates and leads a team effectively, setting clear objectives to manage performance. • Experience of leading environmental management within a large, multi-building organisation. Professional Practice • Applies innovative approaches in leading professional practice to support excellent teaching, pedagogy and inclusivity. • Contributes to advancing professional practice in own area of specialism. Planning and managing resources • Effectively plans and manages operational activities or large projects to achieve long term objectives. Teamwork • Builds effective teams, networks or communities of practice and fosters constructive cross team collaboration by promoting the values of equality, diversity and inclusion. Customer service • Makes a significant contribution to improving the student or customer experience to promote an inclusive environment for students, colleagues or customers. Experience, knowledge and qualifications • Degree in a relevant discipline and equivalent relevant experience • Chartered Environmentalist or able to work towards Chartered status • Lead environmental auditor qualification (ISO14001) or able to work towards • Knowledge of climate change, materials circularity, waste and recycling (in a commercial context), climate mitigation and assessment • Member of IEMA, RICS or equivalent professional body • An understanding of BREEAM, LEED, WELL and/or sustainability assessment methodologies • Knowledge of environmental legislation • Experience of managing environmental and sustainability systems and frameworks such as ISO14001 and the use of monitoring and targeting approaches for environmental management. • Understanding of construction processes and the trigger points for sustainability interventions. • Understanding of sustainable materials and specification of alternative materials for construction. Desirable criteria: • Post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline. Communication Skills • Communicates effectively orally and in writing, adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way. • Communicate complex and technical ideas and information to a non-technical audience
