OSCOR Awarded to Karin Wrona At their November 2024 AGM, the Old South Community Organization (OSCO) presented Karin Wrona with an OSCOR. The award is presented annually to an Old South Londoner who has made a positive impact to the community. “Karin has volun- teered with OSCO for more than 20 years, assisting with the Silent
floor for the new venue. Karin has also staged model apartments as Indwell has opened two buildings, one in London and one in St. Thomas, even arranging for the donation of additional furniture and accessories. Her work exemplifies one of Indwell’s core values of dignity, offering a professional design to an affordable apartment.” “ Behind the London Food Bank exists a garden of vegetables and fruit trees that is managed by a dedicated group of volunteers called Team Tomato ,” explained Jane Roy. “For the past four to five years, Karin has helped prepare the ground in April and May, to water and harvest throughout the season, and prepare the beds for winter. With her deep knowledge of gardening and generous spirit, Karin has helped ensure that families in need have access to nutritious, locally grown vegetables. More than 3000 pounds of tomatoes, peppers, beans, and other vegetables have made their way from garden beds to kitchen tables across London so far this year. Her leadership and enthusiasm have turned Team Tomato into more than just a garden project; it’s a community effort rooted in care, sustainability, and compassion.” Congratulations, Karin – and thank you!
