December brings a special kind of sparkle to our city — twinkling lights, festive markets, and cozy gatherings that make winter something to celebrate. Read on for a few ways to enjoy this snowy month. Start the month at Victoria Park, where the Lighting of the Lights kicks off the season on Friday, December 5th, with over 75,000 dazzling bulbs and a giant holiday tree lighting up the night sky. Bundle up with a hot chocolate and stroll through the park to enjoy the display — it’s a tradition that never gets old. Lace up for a memorable winter adventure on Storybook Park’s scenic 250-metre skate trail, winding beautifully through the park. Warm up with classic treats like Beavertails pastries, crispy fries, hot chocolate, and more. Get in the holiday spirit with Christmas in the Village on Saturday, December 6th, with plenty of fun and free activities. Activities include a scavenger hunt, breakfast with Santa, games, crafts, cookie decorating, art activities, family photographs, and an outdoor market. Finish the day with the lighting of the lights at 4 pm! At the end of the month, join Londoners for New Year’s Eve at Victoria Park on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025, from 7 pm to 12:05 am. Victoria Park will come alive with fireworks, free outdoor skating, live music, and entertainment. Visitors can take in the holiday lights in Victoria Park to celebrate the New Year. As I wrap up my third year on City Council, I want to take a moment to thank the incredible residents of Ward 11 for your Protect the ones you love
trust, feedback, and collaboration. It’s been a year filled with challenges, learning, and meaningful progress — our thoughtful debates that shape how our city grows. What I value most is the spirit of engagement that defines Old South and our wider community — neighbours who care deeply, speak up, and work together to make London better. Your ideas inspire me every day, and I’m so grateful to represent such an active, compassionate, and creative ward.
