12 Days of Christmas at BGC London During the first two weeks of December, children coming to Boys and Girls Club (BGC) London’s after-school programs receive hot, nutritious, and festive dinner, desserts, and gifts for free. This is BGC London’s Twelve Days of Christmas (Holidays) event made possible by donors, sponsors, and community supporters. Each night is generously sponsored by different organizations, or groups of individuals. Sponsors also join us in serving dessert and handing out presents to the children. This year, the BGC cafe is bringing different festive dinners from around the globe. Each night, children will enjoy holiday meals from different countries and cultures. Their Twelve Days of Christmas (Holidays) end with a family luncheon where the BGC London team and sponsors host a holiday luncheon for children and families of the Club. At the family luncheon, children also receive presents from Santa.

For his contributions to London, Mario was named in the Ma-yor’s New Year’s Honour List (2022) by Ed Holder, and by Peter Fragiskatos for the 4th Annual London North Centre Honour Roll (2020). He has been an Old South Community Organization board member for many years and in many roles. Mario grew up in Lockwood Park. “We’ve lived in Old South since 1993 and we raised our family here. I always look back fondly on bike rides with the kids through the neighbourhood. And going to events like Gathering On The Green. I went to South Collegiate and played sports there. The first time I played in a band and performed in front of an audience at the school auditorium in Grade 11,” he recalls.
