scholarship. For example, by applying for the 40,000 USD scholarship, your application will be in competition with other students from around the world who applied for the 40,000 USD schol- arship—of which there will be many. It is important to keep in mind that, as would be expected, the higher the scholarship amount one applies for, the more com- petitive the pool will be. Over our 4 rounds of admission, we offer a total of 60 scholarships: twen- ty 20,000 USD scholarships, twenty 30,000 USD scholarships, and twen- ty 40,000 USD scholarships. Our total scholarship pool is 1.8 million USD, and we look forward to distributing it to our most deserving candidates. Need-based Aid AT BARET, we want our student cohort to reflect a broad variety of backgrounds, experiences, and economic circumstanc- es. Therefore, we offer a limited amount of need-based aid to help families bridge the gap between their financial situation and the cost of a Baret year. We only offer need-based aid in Round 1 and Round 2 admission cycles. Students applying for need-based aid will need to fill out an additional form in their application, which will require the submission of an additional essay. Need- based aid applicants will also be required to demonstrate their financial need in the same additional form in the application. Please note that students with the financial capacity to afford Baret do not qualify and should not apply for need-based aid.
For students who already have an IEC, our program seamlessly integrates with them and their advisory networks. Addi- tionally, we value the insights and expertise that they possess about our students, and we endeavour to learn about their students from them prior to the commencement of the program. By learning about each stu- dent’s unique traits, goals, interests, and activities from consultants, we better serve our students and their college applications. Additionally, our team will consid- er and act on recommendations from a student’s IEC. These recommendations guide us in tailoring specific aspects of our program to meet the students education- al objectives. This could take the form of finding suitable volunteer opportunities for the student in different regions, assist- ing in the transformation of an academic interest into an impactful Capstone Proj- ect, aligning students with compatible Fellows for collaborative research, or fos- tering the development of certain skills. For our students without an IEC, we could facilitate introductions to a number of consultants based on needs, aspirations, and geographies. We have relationships with a number of IECs around the world, such as with InGenius Prep—a highly sought after college counseling firm that was founded at Yale and operates around the globe. Baret Scholars is committed to enhancing the ed- ucational journeys of all our students. With the help and collaboration of Independent Education consultants, we believe that we will not only help our students achieve their college admissions goals but also deliver a better and more informed program.
College Guidance
WHILE A majority of our students are al- ready been admitted to colleges, we extend an invitation for collaboration with Inde- pendent Education Consultants (IEC) to enrich and fortify the applications of those who are still in the process. We recognise the importance of every student’s educa- tional journey to college, and we know the pivotal role played by consultants.
