AAM 2025 Gala Event Program

Welcome

The hard work of 2024 resulted in a victorious ballot initiative that changed Missouri’s constitution, creating a broad right to reproductive freedom. Building a future of abortion access and reproductive freedom in Missouri requires both harm mitigation now, and investment in the future. At Abortion Action Missouri, we have always known that the ballot initiative was only the first phase of the fight, but by coming together to do what once seemed impossible – passing a pro- reproductive freedom ballot measure in Missouri – our in-state coalition is prepared and positioned to counter ongoing attacks that undermine Missourians’ reproductive freedom. After our win last November, abortion care has been re-established in three clinics across the state, and we restored Clinic Escort services in St. Louis City for the first time since 2022. This year we’ve grown our staff team to 16 full-time dedicated individuals. We launched base meetings and strategy teams in four regions across the state to continue building power and to help Missourians hold their representatives accountable. We’ve had a strong presence in the Capitol building this year: In January, we led the Reproductive Freedom Day of Action with more than 200 advocates from across Missouri showing up to speak directly with their legislators. On April 19th, more than 800 Missourians stood with our reproductive freedom champions in the Missouri House and Senate in defense of the will of the people. On May 14th, hundreds came together to protest the passage of HJR- 73, shutting down the floor with a gallery banner drop. Just last week, AAM members joined thousands of Missourians in the capitol once again protesting the politician takeover of our rights and lives.

Despite the ongoing attacks on reproductive freedom, despite another abortion ban on the ballot in 2026, Abortion Action Missouri is strong. Every day we protect access to reproductive healthcare through our Clinic Escort Program, educate our community and elected officials, collect and share the most accurate and up-to-date information on issues related to reproductive rights and freedom, engage thousands of volunteers in the fight for abortion access, and much more. We know the only path forward is deep investment in grassroots organizing to advance solutions that allow Missourians to be the decision-makers about their own lives and bodies. As we always say, Abortion Action Missouri isn’t going anywhere.
