Long-Term Chromebook Lending Program Now Available at Brooklyn Park Library Anne Arundel County Public Library has launched a long-term Chromebook lending program at the Brooklyn Park Library to help bridge the digital divide. The $50,000 initiative is made possible through the generous support of Wellpoint Maryland, T-Mobile for Government and the Anne Arundel County Public Library Foundation. In response to the growing need for technology access, this program has added 56 Chromebooks to the library's catalog, offering library customers the opportunity to borrow a Chromebook with free Wi-Fi for up to 12 weeks. These devices are available for pick-up and return exclusively at the Brooklyn Park Library. “Access to a computer and reliable internet is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity in today’s world,” said AACPL CEO Skip Auld. “This program will empower our customers to pursue education, career opportunities and other essential online services that might otherwise be out of reach.” The Brooklyn Park Library was chosen as the hub for this initiative due to its high volume of device checkouts. Grace Planalp, a Brooklyn Park resident (pictured), was the first to check out a Chromebook as part of the program.

Exciting Plans for a New Glen Burnie Library: Share Your Ideas! P lans are underway for a new Glen Burnie Library, designed to be a 40,000-square-foot modern community space that includes a dedicated cultural resource center. The new library will be constructed on the current site at 1010 Eastway, off Ritchie Highway, and promises to better serve the diverse needs of the local community.

The new state-of-the-art library will be twice the size of the existing library, offering a brand-new collection of books, public computers, group meeting rooms, individual study rooms and more! The project is currently in the schematic design phase, which is the initial step in transforming the concept into physical plans. The design and construction process is expected to take about three years. To ensure continuous library services during construction, Anne Arundel County has committed to funding a temporary library space. The location and opening date for the temporary library will be announced as the project moves forward. We want to hear from you! Share your ideas on how the new Glen Burnie Library can better serve the community. Have suggestions for the features,
